On the 23rd April 2008 fashion tutors from 13 Universities around the UK came together at the Central St Martin’s Innovation Centre for the Fashioning an Ethical Industry specialist conference on teaching ethical fashion. Many of the contributors at the conference are contributing to the Fashioning an Ethical Industry tutor manual, which will be published in September 2008 . Other speakers at the conference included company representatives and fashion educators working in the area of ethical fashion. The day gave tutors the opportunity to learn about what was happening in other universities, discuss some of the current issues around teaching about ethical fashion and take part in, and feedback on, teaching activities.
