Winners and losers at the Olympics, Practical Action
The Practical Action education team produce regular sustainability updates for Design and Technology at Key Stage 4. This set of teaching activities focuses on workers' rights and the Olympics. Whilst not written with fashion tutors at further and higher education in mind it may provide some useful starting points for discussion.
Activities and content includes:
- background information on workers' rights and the Olympics
- comparing 2 sets of factory workers lives
- further reading around Fairtrade certified cotton
- homework questions
- design ideas using waste
