Getting Smarter at Auditing: Tackling the growing crisis in ethical trade auditing
On 16 November 2006, members of the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI) - including Debenhams, Marks and Spencer, Asda, Tesco and Next - met to discuss what could be done about the growing crisis in ethical trade auditing. The meeting drew attention to the limited effectiveness of most ethical trade audits commissioned and/or undertaken by UK high street companies in improving working conditions within the companies supply chains.
