Sedex Paid - Internship
Founded in 2004, Sedex Information Exchange Ltd. is a global supply chain management tool for the collection, management, analysis and reporting of ethical data. The Sedex web-based database is currently used by 160 retailers, manufacturers and importers to monitor labour standards within their supply chains. More than 14,000 suppliers in 132 countries input data into the Sedex system, and are able to share this information via Sedex with any customer who is also a member of Sedex.
Paid Internship (3 Months Full time)
We are looking for an individual who has an active interest in ethical trading and is keen to gain work experience in the area. The successful applicant will be working on a project to help implement the Sedex supplier recruitment programmes within a number of UK retailers. They will gain a real insight in to the complexities of international supply chains and the challenges of ethical trade.
Key skills required include excellent communication skills, confidence in the manipulation of data using excel, excellent organisational skills and a friendly and positive outlook. A considerable amount of time will be spent helping suppliers from around the world to use Sedex - the ability to explain processes clearly on thephone or by email will be required, and foreign language skills, while not required, would be a plus.
We are a small and dedicated team, so the successful applicant will need to feel comfortable helping with every aspect of the organisation. Hard working, patience, a sense of humour, motivated, reliable, a team-player ... these are some of the key attributes that we are looking for.
This is a temporary 3 month position to start as soon as possible. The position will be paid - £50 per day (£250 pw). We'd prefer someone with full-time availability, but we are open to part-time options as well.
