JOBS: Pesticide Action Network (PAN-UK)

PAN - UK are currently advertising for two Project Officers roles one in Cotton and the other in African Liaison.

The Cotton Project Officer will contribute to further development of the market for sustainably produced cotton goods, through managing the various organic cotton awareness projects as described in project proposals funded by donors, raising the profile of the work through speaking engagements, placing articles in publications, use of visual material and any other suitable opportunities, contributing to stakeholder groups and networks of businesses, NGOs and others relating to market activities and awareness raising in the UK and beyond, and communicating the results of the PAN research and fieldwork on the demonstrable benefits of organic cotton to the livelihoods of smallholder farmers in Africa in national and international fora.

The African Liasion Officer will take responsibility for liaising with PAN UK’s partners NGOs in Africa (mainly West Africa), managing projects, ensuring that work programmes are carried out, capacity building with partners, and contributing towards efficient fundraising, donor relations, administration and running of the projects.  Partners range from regionally based NGOs, small community and environmental NGOs, to national organisations.
