Assistant Exhibition Manager

Himalayan Highlands Summer Exhibitions Ltd (HHSE) is looking for an enthusiastic and creative person to support all aspects of work of HHSE.  The successful applicant will have:

- Business, administration and IT skills

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Excellent organisational skills

- Knowledge of fair trade and understanding of fair trade practices

- Be flexible, adaptable and able to work under pressure

- Drivers' license essential

The Assistant Exhibition Manager is an important role supporting the Exhibition Manager during a busy summer season and throughout the year with ongoing community development projects in Nepal and here in the UK. Throughout the summer you will be required to spend time away from home traveling throughout the Scottish Highlands setting up and assisting with our Fair Trade Handicraft Exhibitions.

KEY EXHIBITION RESPONSIBILITIES

- Develop staff sales and customer service training programme

- Ensure all team members are product knowledge trained

- Assist and be responsible for the setting up exhibitions

- Assist staff with all aspects of setting up and maintaining their exhibitions

- Ensure high standard of presentation maintained at all venues

- Maintain regular contact with all venue supervisors

- Liaise with staff throughout the summer ensuring their commitment to HHSE

- Assistant with banking and accounting administration

KEY FOURTH WAY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Assisting with preparation of OSCR application (Office of Scottish Charity Regulator)

- Assisting in development of promotion and marketing strategies

- Assist with product development/design

- Assist with sourcing & overseeing designs/designers

- Communication with development partners in Nepal

- Conducting research on potential development opportunities

- Assisting in the writing of funding applications

- Providing administrative support in a wide range of daily tasks including letter and email communications, preparing materials for use in communications with Directors and other contacts

- Researching and contributing to the production of material for the website, magazine, e-newsletters and media releases.

You should have a keen interest in fair trade and community development, and be enthusiastic about the work and aims of HHSE.  The position will require excellent communication, organisation and IT skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a small team.

Salary: 12,000 - 25,000 - dependent on successful applicants relevant experience.
