Africa Inspires: Workshops for fashion professionals in Kenya
Africa Inspires is a project of the International Trade Centre (ITC) aimed at building sustainable trade relationships with African communities, businesses and organisations in the fashion and textiles sector, and consequently reducing poverty. The Ethical Fashion Forum is working in partnership with the International Trade Centre to encourage engagement with this project by the fashion industry.
Workshops will take place in Kenya between the 26th and the 28th November 2007. The workshops are aimed at fashion (including clothing, shoes, accessories and jewellery) , textiles, and interior product designers and buyers. The workshops will be open to up to 25 participants, invited from all over the world.
Participation is on a first come first served basis and registration is essential. These workshops are free of charge to designers and buyers invited to take part. The International Trade Centre will also cover accommodation costs (bed and breakfast), organisation and travel costs of field trips while in Kenya, as detailed on the programme in the attached document. Workshop participants are required to organise and cover costs for their international travel to and from Nairobi, as well as meals and general expenses in Kenya.
