Practical Action: Teacher Training KS 3 and 4
This event is for KS 3 and 4 Design and Technology teachers in all focus areas who want practical ideas to help them to gain confidence in dealing with sustainability issues.
The event will take place on Tuesday 7th July OR Tuesday 14th July, 2009 from 10.00 - 16.00 at Practical Action, The Schumacher Centre for Technology and Development, near Rugby, Warwickshire.
The course will cover:
- Quick starter activities - how can you get students to think about sustainability as an integral part of D&T?
- What are the 6 Rs and how can we use them in existing projects?
- Developing sustainability criteria as part of every design specification.
- How to include sustainability elements in existing lessons.
- Social, economic, environmental, cultural and moral issues.
- Making the most of sustainability for KS4 assessments.
- Eco-design tools - how can we get students to assess sustainability?
FEES: £100 including free Handbook.
