FEI Steering Group
This term's steering group meeting has a special twist. The normal meeting will take place between 2.00 - 4.00pm at London College of Fashion. Following the steering group meeting, between 4.00 - 5.00pm, May Wong, who works for an organisation that advocates for the rights of garment workers in China, will make a presentation and take part in a Q&A session. To top it all off between 5.00 - 6.00pm we will be having a special event for the FEI student reps.
If you are not a member of the steering group but are interested in coming along to this event please email hannah _at_fashioninganethicalindustry.org with your name, university and whether you are a student or tutor.
For those of you who don't know what the steering group is...the group guides and supports the FEI project and is made up of tutors and students of fashion-related courses from across the UK. The group meets 3 times a year. It guides the project in the appropriate direction, evaluates the project so far and provides tutors and students with the valuable opportunity to network with people from other universities who have an interest in ethical issues within the fashion industry.
We are always looking for tutors who might be interested in joining the steering group. If you are interested in attending the meeting and learning more about the project/and or being on the steering group please contact us and register your interest. If tutors need it, we are able to offer half-day tutor release costs to some universities to cover the cost of the tutors' time.
We encourage each university to have a student representative at steering group meetings. We cover all reasonable travel costs for students attending steering group meetings. If you are a student and are interested in becoming a student representative, or are a tutor and could identify a suitable student, then please do contact us.
