13th June 2007
Project Steering Group Meeting/Student Rep Event
Fashioning an Ethical Industry is guided and supported by a steering group that is made up of tutors and students of fashion-related courses from across the UK.
The June steering group meeting will be open to any tutor who has come into contact with the project and is interested in helping to guide the project in an appropriate direction, evaluate the project so far and network with tutors from other universities who have an interest in ethical issues within the fashion industry. The meeting is also open to all FEI student reps and a special FEI student rep event will be held after the meeting. For more information on FEI student reps and the rep event please see below. The meeting will take place between 2.00 - 4.00 p.m. at the RHS at London College of Fashion John Princes Street site.
If you are interested in attending the meeting please contact us and register your interest.
If tutors need it, we are able to offer half-day tutor release costs to some universities to cover the cost of the tutors' time. If you would like to claim this, we must know by the end of May so that we can budget accordingly. Unfortunately, we are unable to cover travel costs for tutors.
We encourage each university to have a student representative at steering group meetings. If you are a student and are interested in becoming a student representative, or are a tutor and could identify a suitable student, then please do contact us.
Following the steering group meeting, we will hold an event for student reps from 4.30pm to 6pm. We will show a great new documentary film about the Bangladeshi garment industry followed by a discussion of the issues raised.
