Society of Dyers and Colourists (SDC) International Design Competition
SDC are looking for the creative, imaginative and original use of colour in either fashion or textiles. This year's theme is social responsibility, so the design should also incorporate an innovative approach to this area.
The overall winner will receive the SDC Colour Design Award 2010, £1000 in cash and the Veronica Bell Trophy. All country finalists will also receive a prize. The finalists from each country will be invited to the grand final in London, UK in October 2010. This high profile, prestigious competition attracts significant international press coverage.
The competition is open to undergraduate fashion and textile design students in: Australia, Bangladesh, China, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, New Zealand, Pakistan, Singapore, South Africa, Turkey, United Kingdom and United States of America. Tutors will need to pre-select up to three students from their college and submit their names using an entry form available on the SDC website. Entry forms can be submitted by email from 1 Jan 2010 to either to the SDC head office or direct to the regional contact for your country. The deadline for receipt of completed entry forms is the end of March 2010.
