Pecha Kucha: ideas for the future
Drawing its name from the Japanese term for the sound of "chit chat", Pecha Kucha rests on a presentation format that is based on a simple idea: 20 images with 20 seconds to talk about each image. It's a format that makes presentations concise, and keeps things moving at a rapid pace.
A call was issued to fashion students and the following students were selected to share ideas developed through their university courses about ethical issues: Charmaine Jade Ayden (University of Northumbria), Carolina Gomez-Aubert (graduate - Chelsea College of Art and Design), Annasofie Williams (University of Huddersfield), Dimitra Giannopoulou (London College of Fashion) and Mary Hanlon (graduate - Athabasca University, Canada).
The text from some of the presentations can be found in the PDF. A film clip of Mary Hanlon's presentation can be found on the Social Alterations website. More information about Carolina Gomez-Aubert and Mary Hanlon's work can be found in the student work section of the website and on their websites Lunamano and Social Alterations.
